This course will provide students with an understanding of the various challenges facing public safety employees, including, but not limited to, trauma, shift work, mental health stigma, and barriers associated with the organizational culture of the public safety environment. An exploration of the consequences of neglecting mental health, the best practices for supporting mental health and wellness in public safety, and guiding principles to ensure public safety professionals are equipped with the necessary assistance for dealing with the difficulty working in their respective fields. <br>
