Eco-SK in Climates of Change
Lec SA1 selected
As with many other disciplines like economics, social work is mired in a modern worldview that is disconnected from Earthly relations; a disconnection that has fueled both the profession’s colonial growth and contemporary global environmental issues. Eco-Social Work in Climates of Change asks students to reflect on: the Anthropocentric worldview of social work that is part of colonial processes and global environmental issues; possibilities for potential learning with Indigenous understandings on land in relation to the practice of environmental justice and healing; and, those gifts of social work that can be nurtured to help co-create a sustainable future. <br> Mode of Delivery: Virtual Asynchronous.
