Intro: Expressive Arts Therapy

Lec VS selected

This graduate counselling elective course introduces the graduate student/alumnus to the scope of practice of the Expressive Arts Therapies for non-specialists. Ideally this can be taken first for those in the diploma, but it is not necessary. An overview of an Expressive Arts Therapies will be introduced with focus on the registered specialization of Expressive Arts Therapy which is the use of multi modalities and inter-modal transfer work. This course is taught in a group therapy session format. Students are advised, as with all counselling elective courses in this Graduate Diploma option, that experiential work is required and SEUS (Safe and Effective Use of Self) will be expected. The ethical scope of practice for applied creative arts therapies in practice will be reviewed. <br>
