Exclusion(s): Unavailable to students with credit for EDUC4044. This course focuses on the teaching of social studies at the middle and secondary levels. In this course students will focus on effective teaching strategies, lesson planning, the use of learning resources for social studies, unit planning development, assessment and evaluation. A special focus will be put on culturally responsive pedagogy, global and multicultural perspectives, inquiry based learning, and critical thinking in social studies.
