MHPS 1300

This course builds on MHPS 1160: Applied Practice Experience I and MHPS 1200: Applied Practice Experience II. This practice course provides students with an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills from all other courses while working with individuals and families in a community setting. A portion of this clinical experience will be devoted to working with individuals living with dementia. Students will become more familiar with the role of the Health Care Assistant within a home support agency, assisted living facility, or group home. Students will be prepared for employment in these settings. It is essential that students understand the philosophy of community care settings and the importance of client choice and independence.
