Clinical Nutrition I

This course introduces the nutrition care process and the fundamentals of the pathophysiology and medical nutrition therapy for treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and disorders of energy balance. Monitoring of nutritional status, the development, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition care plans, medical terminology and drug-nutrient interactions are also discussed. Three lecture hours
