This course is a continuation of Foods and Nutrition 3520 with emphasis on the pathophysiology and medical nutrition therapy for disease states that are typically treated in a tertiary care setting such as liver and gallbladder diseases, renal system diseases and diseases of the hematological, neurological, and respiratory systems. Additional topics such as specialized nutrition support, and medical nutrition therapy for psychiatric conditions, will also be discussed. Three lecture hours and 3 hour laboratory
